This is a fully interactive program, for groups of 2 or 3 students at a time. Flexible scheduling is available for homeschool, or afterschool sessions.
By helping out with whatever is happening on the farm today, students will learn about the different food crops that we grow and have the opportunity to plant, tend and harvest different varieties. We will explore the biological world through observation, inquiry and inspection, and learn about the principles of ecology and permaculture. We will also harvest and eat from the garden.
The program is designed to help students develop their relationship to the natural world and to the source of their food. Some days at Farm School students might tend seedlings, and harvest herbs & produce for our micro-CSA; other days they might help prepare beds for transplants, sow micro-greens, or winnow dried fennel seed. They will also have to opportunity to participate in our community compost project.
Programs can be adapted to almost any age. All programs are 'drop-off'
We try to plant SOMEthing every day; come grow with us!
